Amidst an existential period during my twenties, struggling with addiction, I took an interest in meditation and began to practice following instructions from a book. After trying several methods for years, I encountered Ashtanga yoga which consolidated all the elements of spiritual practice I had been searching for. Shortly after I left behind a master’s degree and fruitful career in advertisement to become a full-time student. Inspired to further my studies, I’ve traveled to Costa Rica, Austria, Indonesia & India to practice under the guidance of experienced yoga teachers. In 2018, I published a memoir in which I narrate my journey through addiction and bring together my ideas on its roots and potential avenues for healing, supported by references from both modern and age-old introspective sciences such as Taoism, Buddhism, Yoga, and Psychology. Nowadays I host the Satya Podcast, continue to write (working on a fiction novel) and teach yoga.
